We’re back…finally. We want to thank everyone for being patient with us during our mini hiatus. We spent our time off reviewing our business plan and pricing structures and have updated our pricing accordingly. Please check out our new Portrait Catalog below. We will honor the old pricing for our 2010 portrait session clients’ orders through 5/31/2011. If you have any questions or would like to book a session, contact us by email or the contact form on the blog. Updated pricing for Senior Portraits can be found on the AMF Seniors page.
Checking in
Just wanted to stop by and add an update…I am still analyzing and reorganizing our business (plan). A few extra hours in the day would be awesome, but that’s not a reality *sigh*. I’m hoping to be finished and back to the fun stuff by the end of this month. Until then, if you have any questions feel free to email us.

A Modern Focus Photography: 2010 Review | Huntington, WV
It has been a great year, and in less than 3 hours it will be over making room for 2011! We are currently taking a mini break over the holidays and early 2011 to reorganize and reflect on the business so far and I thought this would be the perfect time to post a review of 2010. It was very hard to narrow all the photos down, so sit back and relax as you take a look over a year with AMF and our wonderful clients. We wish everyone a safe and joyful new year!!
AMF is going into hibernation
December has arrived and so has the VERY cold weather. A Modern Focus will be closed for the rest of 2010. Time to regroup, recoup and reorganize for the new year! Questions? Ask away…we will be checking email.
Taking a break
I have decided to take a break from A Modern Focus starting at the end of this year. We will be finishing up open projects and tying up loose ends over the next few months. I need to take some time and re-evaluate AMF’s business plan. In the meantime, if you have questions about the services we provide, please feel free to email us.
Find a Rep, get a card, and save!
Keep a look out for one of our senior reps and ask them for a card. Present a rep’s card at your session and get print credits to use towards the purchase of prints and/or products from your session. For more information or to book a session, contact us today!

New session!
Friendships are an important part of life, and Patrick and I are excited to offer a new session for our clients to help illustrate just that, with the “Just Because…we’re Friends!” Session. This would be a great opportunity for high school seniors to capture special images with their friends before starting a new journey after graduation. Meet Austin: Class of 2011 Senior Rep
A little over a week ago, Patrick and I meet up with Austin, our Wayne High School senior rep for his session. It was a late afternoon session in Lavalette. There was the threat of thunderstorms that day, but luck was on our side again and we didn’t get any rain. I found out after the session that Austin doesn’t normally like his picture taken, but I could not tell at all…he was so relaxed and did an awesome job! Meet Alyson: Class of 2011 Senior Rep
Meet Alyson, one of our Huntington High School Senior Reps! About two weeks ago, Patrick and I met Alyson for her rep session in Huntington. As you know, the weather has been H-O-T and it was definitely hot during Alyson’s session, but we did get a few breezes that helped cool us off a bit. Refocusing
We will no longer be offering full-day wedding services starting August 15, 2010. We are wanting to focus our attentions on Portraits (HS Seniors, Families, etc.), Small Events, and limited Commercial photography. With that said, if your small event happens to be an intimate wedding we would definitely consider that as a project. The recent wedding of Kristin and Eric would fit under our new focus of small events. If you are not sure if your event would be considered “small”, don’t hesitate to contact us for more information!
We have had a great time with the Brides and Grooms and their families over the last 3 years! We can happily say we never had a bridezilla or anything close, and we want to thank all our past clients for being so great.

April Showers Event
On Saturday, April 24th, Patrick and I had the pleasure of setting up a display at the April Showers event at the Huntington House. The historic house is located at 1349 Sixth Avenue and offers a great location for special events like bridal and baby showers, parties, receptions, and more.

Huntington Mall 2010 Bridal Fair
We’d like to thank everyone that stopped by our table at the Huntington Mall 2010 Spring Bridal Fair on Sunday. Patrick and I had a nice time talking with brides-to-be and their families, as well as fellow vendors. Here are a few pictures from our display:

Patrick and I will be participating in the 2010 Spring Bridal Fair at the Huntington Mall on Sunday, April 18th! We would love for you to stop by and see us. The bridal fair will be from noon – 4pm with a fashion show starting at 1pm at the Macy’s Dome. We will also be at the April Shower’s event at Huntington House on Saturday, April 24 from noon – 3pm. We always keep a look out for new contests to keep us moving forward and getting feedback on our images. A Modern Focus recently entered a new wedding photography contest and we would really appreciate your vote. (They do require a valid email address to cast a vote.) This vote goes toward the People’s Choice Award, but we are keeping our fingers crossed for the other independent judging too! We entered the candid category with the image below. I just love the moment caught here of the Bride and Groom cleaning up after the cake cutting…she got cake all over the groom’s face.

Our First Display
We want to thank everyone that stopped by our table at the Christmas Corner Bazaar on Saturday. Patrick and I had a great time meeting everyone and checking out the other vendors handmade goods.
